There is a useful range of accommodation in and around the town and nearby at Carsington Water. Wirksworth is 20 minutes north of Derby and easy to get to from Birmingham (via A38 and A6) and Nottingham (Via A610 and A6). The town is 5 minutes from the A6 at Cromford, near Cromford Mill and Masson Mills, for visitors already in the Peak District. Once you have arrived in Wirksworth, you are central to many of the other towns and locations such as Bakewell, Chatsworth and Ashbourne, which are all accessible along scenic routes. Wirksworth has many pleasant and unique places to stay, so if you are looking for Derbyshire Cottages or Peak District Cottages, then the town has some lovely examples for self catering visits and weekends.
